What a Glorious and Blessed day it has been!!
Rev. Dr. Donald E. Greene, who serves as president of the State Baptist E&M Convention – and was recently appointed Regional Vice President of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc, has worked tirelessly to “do the work of He who sent Him” by ensuring that the Least, Lost and Left Out of our our state and region are being blessed during this season. All too often the smaller communities of our state and nation have been overlooked when resources are being distributed – but this has not been the case this time.
We thank God that, today, nearly 1100 families and individuals of both Greenwood and McCormick counties were blessed to receive 30 pound boxes of fresh fruits, vegetables, protein items and dairy products.
In Matthew 25:31-45 Jesus, during “The Sermon on the Mount”, taught those with a listening ear that real ministry happens when we “feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give water to the thirsty, be kind to strangers and visit those who are sick and in prison.”
Our State and National Conventions continue to work together to Demonstrate the true meaning of that teaching; as President Greene and our State Regional Vice President, the Rev. Dr. Danny R. Webb, have blessed our entire state and this region in a mighty way before and during this season of pandemic.
Please join me in thanking them, our churches, the Associations, the Unions and the many volunteers that have worked to make this vision a reality.
We give a special thanks to the men of Springfield MBC, New Hope MBC, Mt. Lebanon MBC and the many women/missionaries that came out today to help us to distribute the 180+ boxes that came to McCormick county. It’s especially refreshing when we can work together, as the body of Christ, “to serve this present age” with on regard to church and denomination affiliation.
We look forward to our continuing collaboration with the conventions and the USDA Farmers to Families food box program.
What a blessing it continues to be ‘In such a time as this”.
